iBrr Bluetooth Receiver and Remote - Copyright (C) 2009, Techno Gurus, Inc. - All Rights Reserved

I am having problems pairing my two devices. What should I do?

If either of your devices is a 1st Generation iPhone or iPod touch, you must connect both devices to the same LAN via WiFI before you can connect.

When connecting via WiFi it may also be helpful to turn bluetooth off because the antennas for these can interfere with each other. Likewise, it may help to turn WiFi off when using bluetooth to connect. Bluetooth connections are inherently slower than WiFi. The best way to be sure of which communication method you are using is to disable one of them on at least one device, and both devices if you are having issues.

Sometimes it can take a few minutes, especially to establish a connection between two devices for the first time, so please be patient. iBrr works very aggressively to filter out interference and bad connections, so it may connect, disconnect and reconnect several times before stabilizing.

If iBrr never connects at all within a few minutes, try hitting ‘Cancel’ or ‘Tap to Disconnect’ on each device(depending on which is available) and then simply try to connect again. Once you’ve established a good connection between two devices you can usually leave the Receiver device alone and connect and disconnect the Remote device at will.

Also-- remember that if given the choice between ‘Online’ or ‘Nearby’ always choose ‘Online’, whether or not you are using WiFi to connect.

Can you explain how the ‘iBrr ID’ works?

When you first install iBrr this value is set to be ‘iBrr’. If you want to make sure that no one else with iBrr can control your music, change this to any value you like. Just be sure it is exactly the same on each device you use with iBrr or you will not be able to connect. This is basically like your own personal ‘security key’.

To Set the iBrr ID go to your device’s Settings app. Scroll down and look for the iBrr section.

How does the AutoConnect feature work?

This feature basically just saves the step of hitting the connect button manually. If it is on, you will not be presented with a choice of which device to connect to and iBrr will automatically connect to the first device it sees running with the same iBrr ID.

iBrr will always remember whether you were in receiver mode or remote mode the last time you ran the app on a particular device, regardless of this setting.

AutoConnect defaults to ‘Off’. You can turn this on in your device’s main settings application... just scroll down and look for the iBrr icon in settings. The settings contained here are the ones we don’t expect users change often. More commonly altered settings can be changed right within the app from the info or settings screens (depending on which version you’re running)
